Carol has always been fascinated with the brain and physiological psychology and in 2007 completed her training in Neurofeedback.

She has since then been a part of the family at Bella Vida offering Neurofeedback and Biofeedback to both adults and children with varying degrees of difficulties. Working in the Neurofeedback field is particularly rewarding and it is always wonderful when individuals are amazed with the results they see. Due to constant changes in the field of Neurofeedback, completion of courses to enhance knowledge is essential. Carol is currently completing an EEG Technicians course. Carol is also a member of various Neurofeedback organizations including; Neurotherapy Association of Africa, EEG Spectrum International and the International Society for Neurofeedback Research.

To add to the therapies offered at Bella Vida and also to work hand in hand with Neurofeedback Carol has recently completed her training in the Solisten Programme and is able to provide parents and children with a powerful sound therapy.  Ninety percent (90%) of the sensory messages that stimulate our brain, including movement and touch, involve the ear.  The ear thus acts as a sensory integration system.  Solisten uses Mozart violin concertos, with well known beneficial effects.  We also use Gregorian Chant whose particular rhythm has a proven soothing effect.  Solisten is beneficial to individuals with learning disorders, attention disorders, emotional disorders, communication disorders and pervasive developmental disorders (Autism, Aspergers Syndrome, Rett Syndrome).  Solisten has also been used with pregnant women to help reduce stress, increase relaxation and to enhance the bonding relationship between mother and infant.  Individuals that are stressed, fatigued, overworked, anxious and lacking in self-confidence will benefit from the Solisten programme.

In addition to the above, Carol is also an Infant Massage Instructor affiliated to the International Association of Infant massage.  The benefits of massage and loving touch are well recognized and include relaxation, bonding and relief in teething, colic and sleep problems.  Parents are able to learn a simple routine that is practical and easy to use and which one can apply throughout baby's growing years.  Carol is also a Registered Psychometrist Independent Practice and plans to offer career and subject choice guidance in the future.
