Sonja is a registered Educational and Counselling psychologist. She obtained her Masters degree in psychology from UNISA. She completed her internship at Family Life Centre (FAMSA) where she worked with adults and children. She will complete her Doctorate degree on the efficacy of sand tray therapy with children who have emotional and behavioural problems at the University of Johannesburg (UJ) in April 2010.
She started her career as a Junior Primary teacher and then specialized in children with learning difficulties. This has made her an expert in children who have emotional, behavioural and scholastic problems. She has presented numerous papers and workshops. The topics included school mathematics, learning problems, play therapy and sand tray therapy.
