We are now offering a new service at Bella Vida to help people who are feeling the financial recession and need cost effective and cheaper trauma counselling. Trauma Counselling is offered to adults. It is a process where individuals have an opportunity to speak openly about their experience, thoughts and feelings in a space where they can feel safe.
Counselling is also a space where a trusting therapeutic relationship develops and it is precisely within this relationship that a person can experience personal growth and mastery. It provides people with an objective and confidential experience to vocalize their thoughts, feelings and experiences. Counselling is cost-effective and offered by our intern trauma counsellor, Vida Beitz.
It is a viable and goal-oriented technique, which addresses the cause of problem instead of just the symptoms. It provides people with the opportunity to share their thoughts, feelings and experiences. The counsellor facilitates the therapeutic process whilst the client becomes more and more empowered to handle life situations that once felt traumatic.
What is Trauma counselling?
Trauma counselling is a process by which a client meets with a counsellor to talk about a traumatic experience or event in their lives. An important principle of Trauma counselling is to verbalise the traumatic experience, by retelling the story, normalising symptoms (e.g; Anxiety, anger, Individuals may have difficulty falling or staying asleep, Irritability or outbursts of anger, Difficulty concentrating, Hypervigilance, Exaggerated startle response) and encouraging mastery and survivorship.
Counselling is a way for individuals to also be able to share their feelings, thoughts and experiences with an objective and empathetic listener, in a confidential and secure setting.
